Final 2009 Event sees large crowd
After the poor attendance at our Xmas Party the week before, our last night for the year saw a surge in member numbers and a good visitor turnout as well. Sun & Health arrived earlier in the day, and we had extra copies of the latest TAN, both of which were eagerly snapped up, as were our new Solar West mugs, and the last of the wines for 2009. It was good to see more ladies attending, and a few first-timers.
The 75 adults in attendance comprised 45 members and 30 visitors. 3 of the 23 ladies were visitors. The 69% Male/Female ratio was in line with our regular nights, and well within reasonable bounds. Hopefully we can continue to hold the ratio under 75%, which seems to be the upper limit for a comfortable mix. We would like to remind our female members and visitors to attend these events if at all possible. We do have a lot of single males who are not normally able to attend our regular swim nights, and we need to maintain a balance in the genders. Also remember that visting couples and families are welcome at ALL events, not just Open Days. The first Open Day for 2010 will be on January 30th, two weeks before our first regular night.
