Solar West now has TWO THREE TWO venues, at Werribee and Narre Warren (and now Doveton too)

We can't publicly disclose exact locations, but they are marked on this map, and exact locations are available to registered users by logging in (use the Contact Us link to request an account).

After our trial booking at Werribee turned out to be a resounding success, with both members and the venue owners being very happy, we have now committed to holding events at this venue on a regular basis. This means Solar West will be holding at least FOUR events each month, to this broad pattern:

The Sundays of the first and third weekends will be at Werribee, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, and may be followed by dinners/house parties (by invitation of homeowners, obviously).

The Saturdays AND Sundays of the second weekends will be at Narre Warren, from 7pm Sat and 1pm Sun. Members and visitors are welcome to stay overnight, just bring suitable bedding. These events will all be classed as OPEN events for the forseeable future.

The Saturdays of the second and fourth weekends will be at Doveton, from 7pm to 10pm.

The Sundays of the fifth weekends will be at Werribee, as above, but will also be OPEN events.

All entries in our Upcoming Swim Nights and Upcoming Open Days articles will be colour coded to indicate Werribee, Doveton or Narre Warren events.

The summer months will deviate from this plan, as the Werribee venue is closed for the school holidays. We will therefore likely hold all events at Narre Warren over summer.

Admission fees remain unchanged. All events are $15/day ($10 for members and Registered Guests), and everyone is asked to bring something to share for supper/afternoon tea. We provide Tea and Coffee, and the Werribee venue also has snack foods and drinks for sale. ***NOTE*** it is likely that the price of Guest Registration Cards will increase as of our AGM. The current $20 price was set when we had only 8 or 9 open days a year, and seemed fair value at that time. The number of events cardholders can attend has tripled, and it is likely prices will change to reflect that. We strongly suggest renewing or obtaining a card before the end of June to beat any price rise.

And finally, one of the reasons we have secured the new venue at Werribee is that a lot of people complained that Narre Warren was too far away. According to Google, the route marked above takes 61 minutes (admittedly using the tollway). An alternative route bypasssing Citylink between Kingsway and Chadstone would only add some 15 minutes to this time. it really isn't as far as one might think. Smile
